Jürek Zamoyski Wildlife Artist – Specializing in detailed portraits of Mammals, African and Asian species, endangered species and big cats such as tiger, lion, leopard, licensed art, art licensing.. Represented by JQ Licensing.com

Jürek was born and educated in post-war Poland.  Among his original artistic influences was his Mother, who was an Artist herself, and also the famous artist Salvador Dali.

His Mother introduced Jürek to art history, mythology, love for nature and fundamental skills of artistic expression.

One of his early encounters with art was Salvador Dali’s symbolic  painting The Burning Giraffe, a gruesome image of a giraffe with its back ablaze as a symbol of war. Mind you, this discovery took place in Europe, which was recovering from ravages of World War II.

Being surrounded by European art gave Jürek education and respect for history. He believes history is a core of who we are today and connects us with the Future. It is part of our Karma.

He has lived and traveled all over Europe and in 1978 moved to NYC where he became involved in the Fashion business. In turn , fashion gave way to illustration and in June 1986, Jürek’s painting “Yellow” ended up on the cover of Penthouse magazine.

This was an unprecedented use of a painting for traditionally photographic covers.

His lifelong passion for flying led to his decorating commercial airplanes for the last 20 years. He was featured in  various Art magazines and in 1992 on a cover of Airbrush Action magazine which led to a long term friendship and respectful relationship. His Art was published in several books in USA, England and Italy.

After years of exploring portraiture,  Jürek was working with licensing his art with the estates of the respectful Bob Marley, Marilyn Monroe, Grateful Dead, Jerry Garcia and Jimi Hendrix with a world wide recognition.

Aside from commercial demands, he has been painting and showing his Art in Europe, Mexico and the USA. He lived in artists colony Provincetown, Cape Cod, maintaining his studio and Gallery “Eye of Horus”.

In 1992 Jürek developed a line of his own airbrush paints: Medea Airbrush Colours by Jürek.

Decades of Jürek’s love for Art and nature, and his respect to History have come full circle with his current work – his soulful portraits of Animals, created with his unique signature method, based on Dutch Masters secrets; Mische Technique.

Incorporating his palette of favored tools, he works with the Buddhist discipline on his Wildlife Art making a statement that will cause people to reflect on what we are doing to this beautiful planet and change man’s attitude towards doing something to preserve what we have left.

“Every animal has a soul. Since I was a child I have marveled at the grace and beauty of all animals, from the great jungle cats to the four-legged friends in our homes. This led me to surround myself with furry creatures of all sorts. Their exquisiteness and unique personalities have deepened my love and respect for each one of them. For this reason, the portraits I paint capture their outer beauty and their inner Soul. I paint so that it comes from the inside and shines out through their eyes.

With my work I want the viewer to maintain that magical connection with animals that have entered their hearts and lives.
I’m just doing my best to depict magic of life. These are my meditations on beauty of Animals and connections we share.”  To view all of Jürek Zamoyski’s licensed art please visit www.jqlicensing.com.
